Solar Photovoltaic Energy devices use semi-conducting materials to convert sunlight directly into electricity. Solar radiation, which is nearly constant outside the Earth's atmosphere, varies with changing atmospheric conditions (clouds and dust) and the changing position of the Earth relative to the sun.  Commercial buildings tend to be well suited for PV because they are typically large and flat with minimum shading or nearby obstructions.  Whether commercial or residential, almost all U.S. regions have useful solar resources that can be accessed and used to save energy.

Federal Tax Credit Form

  • Net metering - Net metering offsets your electric bill when you generate your own solar electricity and a credit from your power company if you produce more than you use.

  • State Rebates - If your state offers a rebate for commercial solar systems, you can receive a cash payment for the amount of electricity you produce while rebates last.

  • 30% Federal Tax Credit - Take advantage of the Federal Tax Credit which puts money back in your pocket. Commercial systems can qualify for a tax credit of 30% of the value of the solar system.

  • Property Tax Abatement - Benefit from the increased value solar adds to your business without paying more property taxes.  NYC offers four (4) years abatement at 35%.

  • Accelerated Depreciation - Five (5) year accelerated depreciation schedule

  • Utility Incentive Programs – starting at $25,000 incentive go up to $100,000 from your local utility, see current schedule incentives below.
